Is it normal to have absolutely nothing in common with your peers?

I live in a boring little city in the south. I like indie, foreign, and mainly classic horror films. My favorite bands right now are Sleater-Kinney, The Velvet Underground, Joan Jett, The Doors, The Replacements, and Patti Smith. I am 20 and have yet to meet someone that I have anything in common with that are not on the internet. Am I looking in the wrong places for friends or what. By the way, all of the concerts that come my way suck. None of the clubs at my college fit me. I feel alienated.
